Toyota had to recall close to 270 000 cars due to faulty software that controls the brakes on the Prius. It is still unknown which of the other Toyota models are being recalled in South Africa due to faulty accelerator pedals. Globally it is said to be in the millions of recalls for Toyota for the accelerator pedal problem.
This must be hard for the die-hard Toyota fans. Now even reliability isn't even the one thing they can rely on.

This weekend I saw that Zwartkops International Raceway has added the Ford Focus RS as a safety car at the track. It has lots more aggressive looks than the ST and looks quite good in the green.
Honda SA has recalled the previous Jazz models (2002 - 2008). This has been due to a fire that caused the death of a child in 2009. This was due to water penetrating the driver door power unit which resulted in a short circuit and subsequently a fire. Honda will replace these units where necessary together with preventative measures on all vehicles to ensure water can't penetrate the unit.
Just the other day when i saw yet another newspaper heading on a pole about a hero overcoming robbers, i thought about it. The police are trying hard to get people not to place their lives in danger when they are involved in an armed robbery or hijack. The same papers that place these precautions then go ahead and make heroes of the people that actually did place their lives at risk.I am not of the opinion that we should lie down to crime, but the newspapers need to take more responsibility for creating wrong messages.
